Course Setup

Before writing Python, let’s get comfortable with the tools around it. These pages take you through installation, VS Code, Git, and your own copy of the course. You don’t need to understand robot code yet.

You will install the tools once, make your own copy of Chiron, and run a small program. Keep this page open in your browser while following the steps in order. The list below is the setup route; each page ends with something you can check.

By the end, you should be able to open the right folder, run a small program, and save a checkpoint of your work to GitHub. If a step fails, compare its output with the setup page before continuing. Later steps depend on the earlier ones working.

Coming back for another lesson?

You do not need to download, fork, clone, or reinstall everything again. Open your existing Chiron folder in VS Code, open a terminal, and follow the short returning-session checklist. Your assignments are still in student-work.
